LYNN PARK CHARVERIAT is a Korean-American artist, born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, was raised in Dallas, Texas, and studied art + fashion in Los Angeles at Otis Parsons School of Art and Design before moving to New York City.
Artworks in collage assemblage, neon, photography, porcelain sculptures and mixed media, fabric paintings. She works with neon in a spiritual sense that the words and images are filled with light and modern forms of communication like using emoji icons or images which can be turned on and off with a switch. She also notches and makes cut outs with the idea of symbolism as her canvas, deconstructing garments using patterns of fabrics sometimes from renowned designers recycling fabrics, then often times utilizes new technology to augment the reality of her work which can be seen through a unique app.
Her paintings exhibit influences from music, reflections, shadows, nature and landscapes. With these inspirations she creates monochrome and biomorphic abstractions questioning darkness and materialism.
She currently works as a curator / art advisor and lives in Sag Harbor, New York with her two boys and French husband, Christopher CHARVERIAT, who is also an artist. Lynn & Christopher work together on some paintings and art works.
